Charity Subcommitte

As a spokesperson of Charity Subcommittee please allow me to introduce this valuable group. I am proud to say that we are 9 enthusiasts who are willing to help and support those in need. We are currently focusing on the two key projects:
  • Firstly, on an international level we decided to continue supporting a boy from Rwanda and a girl from Afghanistan through ActionAid. We have materials that allow us to understand the conditions they are living in and to see their progress through regular updates from ActionAid.
  • Secondly, our local work is linked to the SOS Village Monde who we are aiming to help not only by organising activities for children from the SOS Village Monde in Mersch but also through fundraising and awareness raising campaigns both within and outside of European Commission. As the Christmas is nearly here we are focusing our attention on the presents for children in cooperation with Interinstitutional Children's Centre (CPE) as well as by collecting items from trainees in all European Institutions in Luxemburg. Other examples of our activities are e.g. Baking day for Charity with intention to bake and sell Christmas cookies or Fundraising House Party at the Charity Spokesperson Nina herself.
We are, however, hoping to have enough time and funds to broaden our focus from children towards homeless people, refugees and stateless persons.

If you want to help this bunch of trainees to make someone else's days better, please contact us. Every little helps.

Our members: Petronille Bogaert, Pavel Dvorak, Andrea Gatto, Nina Jaganjacova, Angela Kangro, Zrna Pavličevič, Yuri Samuel Sønderberg, Liva Svarce, Laurien Teugels.
